Bumpdate: 20 Weeks!

Wow!  Half way done already.  That is super crazy to me!  This pregnancy is flying by!

How far along: 20 Weeks
Gender: It's a baby!
Weight gain: About 8 pounds
Maternity clothes: Moved into maternity pants full time and they are a-m-a-z-i-n-g!  Still wearing regular shirts.
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In, but starting to stretch out.
Sleep: Still sleeping really well.
Best moment this week: Our 20 Week ultrasound.  It was so cool being able to see our baby.  I can't believe how close they can get, seeing all 4 chambers of the heart pumping was super cool.
Worst moment this week: Heartburn. So far it hasn't been fun.
Miss anything: Sleeping/laying on my stomach.
Movement: A teeny little bit, but nothing consistent.
Cravings: Apples with Peanut Butter and Mozerella Stick.  Not at the same time though!
Queasy or sick: Feeling good!
Looking forward to: Friday at 12:30.  I need a break from my kiddos.

And here are Baby Beckwith's first photos:

 Baby's right foot.

Profile!  It looks like the poor kid got my nose.

Bump Date: 17 Weeks

Hello!  I thought I should resurrect the blog since, for some reason, all my family and most of my friends don't live anywhere close to us.  The plan is to update weekly with a bump picture, but we shall see if life gets in the way of that :)
So far this pregnancy has been amazing!  I have not been sick one bit, which I am so so so thankful for.  My energy levels haven't been too low either, though I have yet to experience that "burst of energy" that my workout video keeps talking about.

So without further ado...Bump Date #1: 17 weeks

How far along: 17 Weeks
Gender: It's a mystery, and I'm hoping it will stay that way!
Weight gain: About 2 pounds, though it definitely looks like more.  I think it's because I've been working out pretty consistently, so things are just shifting around a bit.
Maternity clothes: As of this weekend I'm currently mixing some maternity pants with my regular shirts.  And I'm trying out the Bellaband, so far it's worked, but it's only been one day...
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Sleeping really well.  I typically get up once in the night if I drank a bunch of water before bed.
Best moment this week: Registering for baby gear yesterday, which was super overwhelming, but definitely fun.
Worst moment this week: Not sure that I had one, maybe putting on my jeans and realizing they made me look fat instead of pregnant.
Miss anything: Not yet, this pregnancy has been super nice on me so far.
Movement: Not yet, but hopefully soon!
Cravings: Not any recently, though I could eat french fries and chocolate ice cream at any point in the day and be happy about it.
Queasy or sick: Feeling good!
Looking forward to: Early dismissal from school on Friday, and (hopefully) not having tons of planning to do this weekend!

Baby Crochet - Hats

I really haven't been into blogging lately (obviously, since my last post was on Halloween).  But I have done some cute crochet projects that I have been itching to share, I just haven't been able to because they were waiting to be given as gifts!

So without further ado, here are my latest little creations for our good friends here that are having a baby girl next month:

This hat is made from this pattern.  The flower is made from this video.

These two hats were made from this pattern.  The hat on the left is a deep purple, the color is really distorted in the picture.

 This hat is made from
This hat is my own creation.  I love making owl hats, they are my favorite.

This hat is also my own creation, I think the hearts are from this pattern, if it's not the exact pattern it's close.

The rose for this hat comes from this pattern.

Next on my list of projects are a baby sweater, I just have to find a good pattern.  I also want to make another baby blanket.  My crochet skills have gotten so much better since the last time I made one in simple rows of single crochet and I have found some really cute patterns I want to test out.

And a cute picture of Scout to finish this post off.

Happy Halloween!

This year's theme for some of the teachers at school was Wizard of Oz!  I think we all look pretty cute!  And if you can't tell the hubby (in the grey) is the tornado.  His costume looks much better with his arms out to the side so you can get the full tornado effect.

Happy Halloween! Don't eat too much candy :)

Fall Pinterest Challenge: Envelope Pillows

It's time for another Pinterest Challenge!  This time I am linking up with Sherry, Katie, Carmel, and Sarah.

I've seen so many cute pillows popping up all over blog land and on Pinterest, so I thought I would whip some up for a Christmas gift.  Dad, if you are reading this, close your eyes!

Here is my inspiration:

This seriously has to be one of the easiest sewing projects that I have tackled.  You only have to sew four straight lines!

We took a trip to Ikea last week and one of the new fabrics they have reminded me of some coasters I picked up from a local greenhouse in Michigan.

This super cute fall fabric is from Ikea and runs for $6.99 a yard.  One yard will be more than enough fabric to cover two pillows.

First, cut your fabric to size.  My pillow inserts were 16", so I cut my fabric to a 16" x 36" rectangle.

Then mark your fabric for your hem and fold lines.  Mark 1/2" from each end so that when you fold your fabric over you have a 1/4" hem line.  Also mark your fabric 10" in on your longest sides so you know where to fold before you sew the sides of your pillow.

Next, hem the two short sides.

Then iron your pillow on your fold lines.

Once you finished ironing, sew down each of the sides with 1/2" seam allowance.  Fold your pillow right side out, and stuff with your insert.

The result is a great looking pillow that was super easy and required no buttons or zippers!

This is what the back of the pillow looks like.  There is about a two inch overlap of fabric so that you cannot see any of the pillow insert.

Hopefully my dad will like them, and they will add a nice touch of the outdoors to his office space!
