He's Here!

So I officially earn the title of the worst blogger in the history of blogging.  I know you were all anxiously awaiting the announcement of Baby Beckwith's arrival, and I let you down big time.

Here is a quick recap of how things went down.

My water broke on Friday July 11th at 9:30 pm and we went to the hospital so I could get started on antibiotics because I was Group B Strep positive.  After 23 hours of labor, including 4 hours of pushing, I ended up with a C-section and delivered a healthy baby boy!

Brandon made his entrance into the world at 9:03 pm weighing in at 10 lbs and 23 in. long.  We are totally in love with our little man.

We had his newborn photos taken at Camera Shy Photography Studios and they did an excellent job.  Here are some of my favorites:

We are 6 weeks in to this new chapter of our lives and are having a blast.  Brandon is a great baby and we are so lucky to call him our son.

My goal is to try to blog at least once a month to keep a record of how things are going, but who knows how busy I'll be with school and figuring out how to balance work with being a mom.

Bumpdate: 40 Weeks!

Well, I officially passed my July 4th due date.  Bummer.  Our next appointment is on Friday and we will be discussing induction options.  I also have a No Stress Test on Friday morning to make sure baby is still doing okay and that everything is functioning properly.  I think we get to have an ultrasound for that appointment, which is super exciting because we haven't had one since 20 weeks!

Baby has definitely dropped, the top of my stomach is pretty squishy to the touch compared to how it used to be, and I had a few days of good contractions but then they stopped.

Today is our 3rd wedding anniversary, which is crazy to me!  Where has time gone?  Mark got me the best anniversary gift of two small pans of brownies because he didn't know if I would want frosting on them or not and brownie ice cream.  He knows the way to my heart :)

We finished up baby's mobile today and just have to put a few things away in the nursery and it will finally be done.  I'll have to take some pictures soon and do a nursery post too.

How far along: 40 Weeks (and currently 5 days overdue!)
Gender: It's a baby!  I'm so anxious to know.
Weight gain: About 33 pounds, I seriously can't stop eating ice cream and S'mores.  It's a sickness.
Maternity clothes: Yup.  I'm down to about 4 shirts that actually fit.
Stretch marks: Yes.  Major bummer.
Belly button in or out: Out
Sleep: Pretty good, minus the fact that I have to start the night sitting up because of the heartburn.
Best moment this week: Hanging out with friends for 4th of July, and our anniversary!
Worst moment this week: Still being pregnant...I love being pregnant, but I want to meet this little baby so badly!
Miss anything: Laying on my stomach and not having to go to the bathroom every hour.
Movement: Yup!  I love it and will miss it so much.
Cravings: Ice cream, chocolate, and fruit.
Queasy or sick: Feeling good until I get heartburn.
Looking forward to: Having this baby!

Bumpdate: 39 Weeks!

I am seriously hoping this is the last Bumpdate I will get to do.  Here's to hoping Baby Beckwith comes soon!

Today is one of my due dates, according to our early dating ultra sound.  But the official due date for Baby B is July 4, only 3 more days!  Baby definitely feels lower, and I have been having more contractions, but nothing consistent.

Today was rough.  I'm not sure why but I had a crazy backache for about half the morning, and it really sucked.  Luckily Mark gave me a little massage and after laying down for a while I was back to normal.

I've been walking 3.5 miles everyday this week!  But so far Baby hasn't got the message to come out...

On to the weekly stats:

How far along: 39 Weeks
Gender: It's a baby!  I can't wait to meet our little peanut!
Weight gain: About 30 pounds, I ate too much junk food last week :)
Maternity clothes: Yup.  Except I have to be careful about which shirts I wear because my belly sticks out of the bottom of some of them.
Stretch marks: Yes.  Major bummer.
Belly button in or out: Out.  It's weird and squishy.
Sleep: Pretty good, but I keep waking up so early.  If I sleep until 7 am that's a successful night.
Best moment this week: Feeling baby move.  I'm going to miss it so much.  And relaxing by the pool.
Worst moment this week: Heartburn and my crazy backache.
Miss anything: Exercising like normal, sleeping on my stomach.
Movement: Yup!  I love it!
Cravings: Sweet things, especially ice cream.
Queasy or sick: Feeling good until I get heartburn.
Looking forward to: Our appointment on Thursday afternoon and a fun (hopefully baby filled) weekend!

Bumpdate: 38 Weeks!

I really can't believe it's almost baby's due date, but at the same time I am ready to meet this little gal/guy!

So far I've only felt minor cramping in terms of contractions, and my midwife said that I'll probably end up going past my due date, which is fine, as long as it's not two whole weeks past :)

I'm still going to the gym four or five times a week, mostly for walking in the cool building, and because they have a bathroom since I can barely make it through my whole 45 minute walk without needing to go.

This week I've been able to get quite a bit done for school, which will be so nice once school actually starts.

How far along: 38 Weeks
Gender: It's a baby!  I'm getting super anxious to know if it's a boy or a girl.
Weight gain: About 27 pounds
Maternity clothes: Definitely.  And the shirts are getting to short now that my bump has dropped a bit and continues to grow.
Stretch marks: Yes.  Major bummer.
Belly button in or out: Out, you can see it through my shirts now.
Sleep: Alright.  I typically only have to get up once if I get up at all.  But I wake up really early and just can't fall back to sleep.
Best moment this week: Our appointment yesterday.  I love hearing baby's heartbeat.
Worst moment this week: Being tired and achy.  My joints are starting to hurt if I stay in one position for too long.
Miss anything: Being able to get up without moving super slowly.
Movement: Yup!  And it hurts.  Baby has been super active at night and it's powerful movements!
Cravings: Sweet things.
Queasy or sick: Feeling good
Looking forward to: A relaxing weekend. And hopefully some thunderstorms, though I doubt we will actually get any down in the valley.

Bumpdate: 37 Weeks!

This week  has been pretty good.  I'm slowly getting the first week of school planned, now I just have to update some files and make some things to pass out to the kids and I'll be finished.

Going to the gym is not as fun as it used to be.  People give me the funniest looks and do some funny double takes as I walk by.  This morning I was doing the 30 minute circuit and had the following conversation:

Man: Be careful!  I don't want to deliver a baby today.
          Me: Ha ha.
          Man: How far are you?
Me: I have two weeks left.
Man: Two weeks!  And you're doing this?  Does your doctor know?
          Me: Yes
Man: And they are okay with you doing this?
          Me: Yes

Overall Mark and I are feeling really ready to have this baby.  I'm most scared for the labor and delivery part, I know I can take care of it once it's born.  I only have to finish packing my hospital bag, install the car seat, and start making the baby book.  But I keep telling baby he/she can come anytime now.

How far along: 37 Weeks
Gender: It's a baby!  Only a few more days until we meet him/her!
Weight gain: About 26 pounds
Maternity clothes: I'm mostly just bumming in a t-shirt and shorts, unless I have to leave the house.
Stretch marks: Yes.  Major bummer.
Belly button in or out: Out.  Mark says it looks like it hurts, but thankfully it doesn't.
Sleep: Not too bad, but some nights I have to sleep sitting up because the heartburn is so ridiculous.
Best moment this week: Maternity pictures on Monday, Breastfeeding class on Tuesday, and just hanging out at home enjoying the fall like weather.
Worst moment this week: Heartburn.  So. Much. Heartburn.  Especially when I'm going to bed.
Miss anything: Laying on my stomach, and weirdly enough running.
Movement: Yup!  Though baby is slowing down because he/she is running out of room.
Cravings: Sweet things.
Queasy or sick: Feeling good
Looking forward to: Our appointment on Friday!  And finishing up the last few things on the to-do list.

Bumpdate: 36 Weeks!

This first week of summer vacation is flying by!  I went into hyper nesting mode over the weekend.  Our kitchen has never been so clean!  I only have a few more things to check off my pre-baby to do list, which feels great.

I'm getting anxious to meet this little peanut, but it isn't allowed to come until next week Wednesday night at the earliest.  We have maternity pictures scheduled on Monday, and then a breastfeeding class scheduled for Wednesday evening.  I really want to make it through those two things before baby arrives.

How far along: 36 Weeks
Gender: It's a baby!  Only a few more weeks until we meet him/her!
Weight gain: About 27 pounds
Maternity clothes: I'm mostly just bumming in a t-shirt and shorts, unless I have to leave the house.
Stretch marks: Yes.  Major bummer.
Belly button in or out: Out.  So so weird.
Sleep: Not too bad, but I definitely don't sleep through the night like I used to anymore.
Best moment this week: Checking so much off of my to do list!  It feels amazing.  And baby has been kicking like crazy.  It's starting to hurt!
Worst moment this week: Being sore after working out.
Miss anything: Laying on my stomach.
Movement: Ton!  Though it's been hurting a bit this week.
Cravings: Sweet things.
Queasy or sick: Feeling good
Looking forward to: Our appointment on Friday!  Only 3 more (hopefully) left!

Bumpdate: 35 Weeks!

This week is the first official week of summer vacation.  I had meetings at school on Monday and Tuesday and spent Wednesday and Thursday at school as well.

I have officially touched every piece of paper in my classroom that I was so lucky to inherit, and after much purging my room looks so clean.  I was even able to get all of my bulletin boards for next year completed, which is a huge thing checked off my to do list.  If this baby comes on time or late I will be missing contract week, which means no time to do bulletin boards.  Plus I don't think I'll really want to leave my snuggly baby to go up to school to put them together.

All that's left on my school to do list is prepping for the first week and having all of my copies made.  As a bonus I would like to organize my classroom library, but I have to same some of my energy for my home to do list too.

Let's get down to business...35 weeks!

How far along: 35 Weeks
Gender: It's a baby!  Only a few more weeks until we meet him/her!
Weight gain: About 25 pounds
Maternity clothes: Maternity clothes all the way, except for my athletic shorts which I have been living in at home.
Stretch marks: Yes.  Major bummer.
Belly button in or out: It's on it's way to an outie.  It looks weird :/
Sleep: Not too bad, but I wake up every time I want to roll over, which is annoying.
Best moment this week: Finishing up my room at school and our appointment today.  Baby's heartbeat is around 140!
Worst moment this week: Heartburn.  Waking me up at 2 a.m. and forcing me to attempt to sleep sitting up.  So not fun.
Miss anything: Laying on my stomach.
Movement: Tons, and I love all of it, even if baby does jam his or her butt up as high as it can go.
Cravings: Chocolate.
Queasy or sick: Feeling good!  One teacher at school told me I was the happiest pregnant lady she has ever seen, so that makes me feel good.
Looking forward to: A relaxing weekend with a birthday party my BFF's little girl.
